BPS Services for Young Adults
As adolescents transition into young adulthood, they are expected to make a number of difficult life decisions, while at the same time experiencing a reduction in their contact with supportive adults (parents, teachers, etc.). Due to the amount of stressors that exist during this developmental phase, it is not surprising that serious mental health issues often first emerge or dramatically increase during this time. Having the ongoing support and guidance of a trained licensed professional during this life stage can be invaluable. To increase the likelihood of a good fit, BPS also offers a referral assessment with a BPS therapist, trained by Director Dr. Jan Hittelman, as well as our free online therapist directory.

My work with teenagers and young adults includes drug and alcohol abuse and addiction, social anxiety and shyness, general anxiety and panic attacks, depression, grief and loss issues, trauma, school issues, and complex family issues. While all of these can be horrific for the individual and families involved, the underlying resiliency present in each of these young people and families is the foundation that we build from in the healing process.
