Queering Gender and Sexuality: A Contemplative and Somatic Exploration
Come join in community and conversation as we explore and gain awareness of possibilities of gender and sexuality. This panel discussion offers many diverse perspectives and expertise in the discussion of working with clients who are exploring their identities. In this training you will develop further understanding of the therapist’s role in the larger context of the system. The container for this training will hold an emphasis on compassion and self-reflection.
Panelists: Raine Revere is a trans/genderfluid psychotherapist, engineer, and metacognition researcher.
Nora Alwah, MA, LPC (She, Her, Hers) is a queer cis-woman of color and a multilingual somatic psychotherapist specializing in working with queer, trans, gender nonconforming, immigrants, people of color, multicultural and multilingual individuals.
Carole Clements is Associate Professor of Contemplative Psychology at Naropa University and a contemplative psychotherapist in private practice, specializing in gender, sexuality and intimate relationships.
Jessie Read (he/him/his) is a trans queer therapist based in Denver and specializes in intersections of trans experience, queer identity, and neurodiversity.
Nevaeh Anderson has been the program manager of TransAction and Sisters in Spirit at It Takes a Village for six years. She is an HIV Prevention Outreach Specialist and Care Manager at The Empowerment Program, and is one of five trainers for the CDC intervention TWIST, which is specifically for Transgender Women.
Moderator: Freeda Be (Brett Adamek) is a queer/non-binary transpersonal counselor and embodiment mentor and is a co-founder of Queer Asterisk Therapeutic Services.
