BPS Therapy Services for Children

If your child is currently struggling at home and/or in school, initiating counseling before the problem(s) worsen is always a good idea. In addition to finding the therapist with the right expertise for your child, just as important is finding someone with whom your child will be comfortable working. At Boulder Psychological Services (BPS), we have a number of therapists who specialize in working with children of different ages, as well as different treatment issues.  To increase the likelihood of a good fit, BPS offers a Therapist Finder to ensure a great match.

Licensed Professional Counselor

With children, I do a 45-minute Synergetic Play Therapy session in my office or outside. Then, later in the week, I have a 15-minute phone call with their parents and caretakers to suggest ways to integrate the child’s therapy at home. This is essentially family therapy but seeing members separately. Children are more resilient than adults, so sessions usually progress faster and have results that can be seen, not just felt.
